Add Ultrasn0w Source to Cydia
This tutorial will show you how to add Unltrasn0w source to Cydia. Usually Ultrasnow is installed automatically with cydia, but in some cases it will be missing, so if you could not find ultrasn0w in your cydia, follow the instructions below to add it.
BREAKING NEWS, UNTETHERED JAILBREAK FOR IOS 5.1.1 FOR (IPHONE 4S, IPHONE 4, IPAD 3, IPAD 2, IPAD 1, IPOD TOUCH, APPLE TV). IF YOU ARE A MEMBER LOGIN HERE, TO SIGN UP CLICK HERE.
UPDATE: Use Method 1 for older iOS. For iOS 5.1.1 use Method 2.
Method #1 (older iOS):
Add Ultrasn0w to Cydia

Method #2 (Supports iOS 5.1.1):
At posting time, the latest ultrasn0w is not yet supported on iOS 5.1.1. Thus, you must intall an ultrasn0w fixer patch first.
12. If you’ve installed ultrasn0w, remove it now.
13. Launch Cydia.
14. Add the following to your source:
http://repo.iparelhos.com
NOTE: If you get the following error message while trying to add repo.iparelhos.com the following tutorial will help you in fixing repo.iparelhos.com error “The indicated repository could not be found. this could be because you are trying to add a legacy installer repository (these are not supported). Also this interface is only capable of working with exact repository URLs“
15. Tap on the iParelhos repo to see Ultrasn0w Fixer for iOS 5.1.1 utility. Tap install to begin installation.
16. Once installation is complete, we need to install ultrasn0w. Launch Cydia.
17. Search for ultrasn0w on Packages in Cydia. If you cannot find it, add new sources by typing ultrasn0w repo:
repo666.ultrasn0w.com (with zero, not o).
18. Install Ultrasnow 1.2.5.
19. Reboot your iPhone.
20. Turn off 3G and insert your SIM card. It should pick up your carrier signal.

I have an iPhone 3GS with 05.13.04, 5.1.1 OSX,and with T-mobile network. It works, I have network, but only if there is 3g network. Whenever I try (or need) to switch to edge, the device does not find any services. Because of that the GPS is inaccurate too. I tried to reinstall ultrasn0w, but it doesn not help. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
You might want to upgrade your device to latest iOS while preserving your baseband and then jailbreak it and install ultrsn0w

sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

i have jail broken my iphone (v5.1.1) from verizon. i downloaded the fixer and then the new 1.2.7 v of Ultrasn0w. I receive 2 errors…sub process error…one state post installation script returned error status 255 and the second is /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code 1.

First make sure that your sim is working and it does support iphones, also uninstall unltrasnow fixer and install it again, restart your device and try again.
I have an iphone 4s and i have been trying to add ultrasn0w but it keeps on showing error. If ultrasn0w does not support iphone 4s. What is the alternative source to unlock it? Thank you

Hi i done 5.1.1 update to my 3gs successfully. But after that i can’t get any network signal and it keep on searching long time and came with “No Service” , i Done ultrasn0w fix also couldn’t help. Help me to outcome this problem

Try to add it at different times as sometimes their servers get overwhelmed with the huge about of requests at onetime. If you keep trying it will eventually work.
Hello, I have added repo666.ultrasn0w.com to the sources, but when completed it is not there. Every time I get No Service. I have iphone 4S with 5.1.1 Modem firmware 2.0.12.

Occasionally you will get repo errors. Usually due to the repo being down for maintenance.

I jailbroke my iPhone 3Gs version 5.1.1 with baseband 6.15.0 from redsn0w
As a result. I could not get service and could not install Ultrasnow because it hoes “Error Date Format”
Someone recommended me to jailbreak my iPhone again on redsnow 0.9.14b2 and then downgrade modem to 05.13.04. And so I did but it had same results.
I haven’t tried your steps yet and I just have to ask first:
1) Do I need to upgrade it again to baseband 6.15.0? If yes, how will I do that?
2) Will process #2 work even if I don’t upgrade my baseband firmware from 5.13.04 to 6.15.0?
3) How do you fix the “Error Date Format” in installing/Searching Ultrasnow in Cydia?
Before you do anything have you tried to use the instructions in Method #2 (Supports iOS 5.1.1): above to unlock your device ?

hey. hello again. It was perfectly working. And then I had to install Siri and my phone broke. I had to restore and do all the processes all over again. When I get to doing Method#2 again. I keep on getting errors. http:// 404 not found or something like that for both fix patch and ultrasnow. What do I do?

Ultrasn0w is for iPhones only, you cannot unlock an iPad.

You might want to contact the Cellular data provider and ask them for the settings for your iPad.

You need to upgrade your modem firmware version (baseband) to 06.15.00 first using the following tutorial:

I updated the modem firmware to 6-15-00, and now all it says is no service
After you update to 06.15.00 you will need to use the instructions in Method #2 (Supports iOS 5.1.1): above.
I did exactly like the instructions said, I re-installed ultrasn0w fixer for 5.1.1 and It only gave my ultrasn0w for 1.2.7 so I re-installed that but it still says no service

Try to update all the sources in Cydia if that did not work then We would recommend you to rejailbreak your device and start over again.

There is no unlock solution for iPhone 4S 5.1.1, ultrasn0w will not work for it.

In your case you need to use method #2 sometimes it takes more than one try in several periods of times just because of the servers availability.

Ultrasn0w does not support your device. You can only jailbreak this device there is no unlock solution for it yet.
My iphone is not supporting my sim but i also instal ultrasnow and my modem firmware is 04.11.08
As of now for your device Ultrasn0w only supports 01.59.00 baseabands

Your device need to be connected to the internet through wireless internet before you can install Ultrasn0w Please make sure your have wireless internet and then in your iPhone go to Settings>Wi-Fi and connect to a wifi connection.
