Extra Brightness When Your iPhone Is Plugged In? Can Do!

The iPhone has one of the best screens in the mobile industry and this means that it has the highest pixel density because of the retina screen technology it packs, and it has a really decent brightness level.  At a very high level, you can even use the screen as a flashlight itself.  Of course, most people will dim their devices to a certain readable level because they will want to conserve battery life.  But when you plug in your iPhone, it doesn’t make sense that you will need to dim your screen to conserve battery life.  And when you do want to up the brightness, there are just too many steps to do so and then when you unplug the device, you may forget to dim the brightness setting again.  This is all solved with a new tweak on Cydia called BrightnessPlug.

To use this tweak that adds functionality to your device, you will need to jailbreak your iDevice.  There is no way that you will be able to add this enhancement to a non-jailbroken iPhone; not unless Apple adds this extra functionality into the official firmware themselves.  This, of course, is only wishful thinking.  So if you need to jailbreak your iPhone, you can sign up with us here and we will give you all the tools and the tutorials for you to be able to do it easily and quickly.

After you jailbreak your device, all you have to do is go into Cydia and then search for the BrightnessPlug tweak using the built in search function.  This tweak is totally free to use and you will not get any new icons on your homescreen.  You will get a preferences panel in your Settings application where you can adjust the extra brightness setting for when you plug your device.  So how does it work?  Basically, when you plug in your iPhone to charge, your brightness setting will be turned up so that you can enjoy your device with a brighter screen without worrying about battery drain.  When you unplug the iPhone, it will dim back down to the setting that you had it on when it wasn’t plugged.  This is a great way also to know that you are charging your device.  Because, who knows?  You just might forget that you are charging it.

We think that this is one of the simplest and most helpful tweaks that you can have on Cydia and we highly encourage that you use it since it is free anyway.  It really adds a great way to use your iPhone and makes it easier for you because you don’t have to change brightness settings at all.  We think this will also be an awesome tweak to have if you have one of those charging cases for iPhone so when you activate it, the brightness level will go up as well.
