Take Free Calls And Free Text To A Whole New Level For iPhone

With the introduction of the iPhone in 2007 and subsequently the introduction of applications that would be available for download a little later on, it is no surprise that there are so many applications out there that now compliment the iPhone in such ways that it takes advantage of cellular and WIFI connections to be able to make free calls and send free text messages.  And this can be rounded off by one of the most popular applications for iPhone to date known as Viber.

Before iMessage ever existed, Viber brought to the iPhone a very special functionality that allowed free messages between Viber app users.  To top it off, they also added a free call functionality that allowed for the clearest calls from anywhere around the world.  As long as two Viber users are online, these calls that are made can be free and unlimited.  This was all before iOS5 and also way before any other competition that brings the same functionality as Viber.  Viber became so popular and powerful that it was considered an actual replacement to other services like Skype. Of course, this is entirely debatable but it goes without saying that Viber has really brought communication to a whole new level.

Now available across different platforms, Viber has just recently announced and released a major update to their app. This time, it brings a feature that was most wanted by users around the world: group messaging.  What does this mean?  It means that one on one communications through Viber are now a thing of the past and even more meaningful conversations can be had between the app users in groups.  This also brings together people using Viber on different platforms.  This may not seem like a big update, but for Viber this is huge as it aggregates different types of users, not just iOS, to use their awesome call and text services.

The Viber application is a powerful one that comes for free on various app stores around the world and even though there are other apps that are pretty much in the same vein, Viber makes sure that they do what they do best. Calls are crystal clear on their servers and sharing text, pictures, and videos are easy and even now more awesome since you can send one picture to share with a bunch of people who are in the same group.  This can be compared to Facebook’s Messenger system, but with more and more people jumping our of Facebook because of prevailing trust and privacy issues, Viber instantly is a great alternative.
