iPhone Tips & Tricks #225: Adding A Number To An Existing Contact

The iPhone is a great way to aggregate all your contacts in one organized application so that you don’t lose anything.  Coupled with the iCloud service, you can be sure that you will never lose your contacts again.  However, how do you add a contact number to a contact that already exists on your iPhone list?

To do this, all you have to do is Tap the Phone app, tap on Recent Calls, then tap on the blue arrow next to the number that you want to save.  You will see a Call Info screen and at the bottom the option to Add to an existing contact.  Tap on that option and your address book will pop up.  You can then scroll through your list of contacts and then tap on the contact that you want to save the number to.  You can even change the kind of number from Home toMobileor whatever else is available to you on that screen.

This tip works on all iPhone models on any iOS firmware version.
