iPhone Tips & Tricks #245: How To Setup WIFI Sync
One of the best tricks on the iPhone on iOS5 is that you can wirelessly sync with iTunes on your Mac or PC. This means that you don’t need to use the 30-pin dock connector just to sync items to your device and this includes everything that you can add to your iPhone. From books to music, and applications, WIFI syncing is the best way to go without you worrying about any cable restrictions.
To do this, make sure that the PC or Mac that you are using are on the same WIFI network as your iPhone. Plug in the device to that PC or Mac and then select the device on the left panel of iTunes. Then select the Summary header bar. From there, scroll down until you see Sync with this iPhone over WIFI. Click on the box to turn on and activate this feature. Now, every time that you are online with the same network and your iTunes is on, you will see your device being wirelessly connected to iTunes. You can now ditch that cable!
This works on all iPhone models that run iOS5 and above.
