iPhone Tips & Tricks #266: How To Display Music Artwork With iTunes Match

One of the things you will end up doing a lot with your iTunes music library is making sure that all the tracks have an attached album art thumbnail so that when a track plays, it looks beautiful on your iPhone or on iTunes.  But when you sign up to iTunes Match, all your effort can be thrown into a black hole and everything seems to be messed up.

The good thing is that you can get all your album artwork in order for each of your tracks even after it is messed up by iTunes Match.  To do this, open your music application.  Select the album that you want to recover album art for.  Click on the first track and then it should play.  If there is artwork, the track should display it. Click on next and then it will skip to the next track.  The artwork will not display in the next track.  But you will notice that the receiving data wheel is spinning next to your carrier name.  This means that it is still pulling down the art work.  You have to skip forward and then back and you will finally see the second track has artwork.  Do this with all tracks to make sure all tracks get that image.

This is a tedious but useful tip that can be used on all iPhone models with iOS5 and above.
