iPhone Tips & Tricks #267: Let Your Music Stop Playing After Set Time

Listening to your music on an iPhone is addicting.  The fact is that you will be using it as your main device for music even if you do own an iPod Touch.  It’s just most convenient for everything to be crammed up in one device.  And this is exactly what the iPhone is good for.  However, you may be listening to music and suddenly fall asleep.  The music will keep playing and your battery life will be none the better.

To set your music to stop playing after a set amount of time so that you don’t waste your juice, open the Clock application on your device.  Select the Timer option.  Then set the amount of time that you want your music to play for.  Click on the option When Timer Ends and then select to Sleep iPod.  This is he way to set a sleep function for your iPod app to stop playing after a set amount of time.  Now all you have to worry about is the ear buds that are stuck in your ear while you are sleeping.

This tip works on all iPhone models running on any iOS firmware version.
