iPhone Tips & Tricks #276: Editing Or Deleting Contacts

There may come a time when you need to change contact details for a specific person on your iPhone or if you need to get rid of one completely for the obvious fact that you just don’t need them there anymore.  Many people will just leave the details on their iPhone and not bother making any changes at all.

However, the iPhone makes this a painless and really easy experience.  It’s so easy that you will probably go through your whole list just to see what to edit or who to delete in one sitting.  To do it, open your Contacts application on your iPhone and select the contact that you want to edit or delete.  Tap on the Edit button and start to make changes where you need to in the different fields.  If you want to delete the contact completely just tap on the Edit button and then scroll down to the bottom where you will see a Delete option.

This works on all iPhone models running on any iOS firmware version.
